Synapse Films officially announces there release date for this Dolph Lundgren 80's classic. June 12th to be exact, so mark it on your calendar or to just get a jump start, place your pre-order directly through there website at www.Synapse-Films.com. I, for one, cannot wait! Is that cover just not completely badass?! You just don't see painted covers like that anymore as every cover nowadays are boring as hell with a simple photograph or just a collection of images photoshoped together looking like some high school did it while in art class. There's just no art to covers anymore. This is old school and in keeping with it's 80's vibe through and through. Kudos to the guys over at Synapse Films for keeping it real.

This cover combines both the Thai and Italian theatrical posters from 1989!
ReplyDeleteYea buddy! That's what makes it so awesome!
ReplyDelete3 Lundgren`s on one poster is a bit much, though....and I bet that also is just photoshopped, no real brushes involved.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! 3 Lundgrens on the same cover is definitely a statement! lol. It might be photoshopped, but what I like about it is that it's reminiscent of old school 80's action posters. But as "anonymous" stated above, more along the lines of the Thai, Italian and even some of the German covers. It looks cool!
DeleteYeah, I'm not the biggest fan of this film but I'm loving the old school cover. Actually might have to purchase it - I'm loving the amount of extras they've given it.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's the fact that it's competently made by Joseph Zito and despite having some lull sequences in the middle when he's roaming the desert, it's got a lot of action really well done. Add on top of that Lundgren hitting the big leagues in that particular point of his career and it's really more of a nostalgia thing for me. And you're right, the extras are "drool" worthy. Props to Synapse Films for putting those together.
